A: The maximum length of any one trip covered under this policy is 31 days. The maximum length for any dependent children is 31 days if they are travelling on their own ie. not accompanied by either parent. The total time spent outside Ireland must not be more than 90 days in any 12 months.
A: Mapfre are not liable for claims resulting from childbirth. Cost incurred in the treatment of complications or abnormalities during pregnancy are covered, apart from those occurring after the seventh month of pregnancy. In any case, pregnant women should confirm their fitness to travel from a registered qualified medical practitioner.
A: No pre-existing medical conditions are covered under the insure.ie travel policy unless they have been declared to and approved by Mapfre (the underwriters). This means that no claim will be paid out which arises directly or indirectly from any pre-existing medical condition of which you are aware and which affects any:

A: Yes, the first €75 of any claim is not covered or €100 in respect of medical expenses. For cancellation or curtailment the excess is the greater of €75 or 10% of the cost of the holiday.

A: In the case of a medical emergency involving admittance to a hospital or a claim in excess of €500 you must contact the 24 hr Claims Helpline on +353-91-560 615 prior to incurring any costs to check that you are covered. We have multilingual staff and a global assistance network available to help. Mapfre (the insurer) can deal directly with any hospital on your behalf. In cases where the claim under the policy is likely to be less than €500 you may pay the costs and claim the money back from Mapfre when you return from holiday. Please call the claims helpline prior to incurring any costs if you are unsure what to do.
